The Opportunity:
MPB is actively recruiting for a Senior Paralegal or Legal Counsel to support the Legal function in delivering the day to day legal advice to MPB across its 3 hubs in Brighton, Berlin for the EU business, and Brooklyn for the US market. This is an amazing opportunity for a legal professional to join a fast growing scale-up company and play a key role shaping our Commercial Legal function.
This is a new position within the Legal Team reporting to the Head of Legal and the ideal position for a technically strong, ambitious legal professional keen to take the next step in their legal career.

Responsibilities:
Reviewing & negotiating commercial agreements with suppliers (SaaS products, NDAs, T&Cs). Advising the business on dos and donts of legal contracting
Assisting the Head of Legal with the preparation of template contracts
Maintaining the contract management system logs
Managing company secretarial filings in the UK and working with external advisers in the EU & US
Assisting the Head of Legal in the preparation and rollout of compliance policies & procedures. Participating in practical training for the business on compliance risk areas
Supporting the business in dealing with the legal aspect of customer queries and disputes in relation to transactions
Support with legal projects such as rollout of localised platforms across the EU
Assisting the Head of Legal in keeping the Platform terms & conditions together with the privacy & cookie policy up to date across the UK, EU & US markets to reflect local regulatory requirements and online retail best practice
Adhoc legal research as required
Essential Skills:
A senior Paralegal or a lawyer with commercial legal experience qualified to practise in England and Wales gained in the commercial law team of a private practice firm or in-house legal department. Lawyers qualified in the EU of Australia or New Zealand will also be considered.
Strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters.
Strong technical skills coupled with a positive attitude and an ability to work autonomously and in an agile environment, as well as the ability to work proactively to address new challenges.
Experience working in a fast paced environment with broad based generalist responsibilities and with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Ability to show initiative and suggest changes for process improvement.
Ability to work across different teams
Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing
Bachelor's Degree in Law with strong academic credentials or equivalent qualifications.
Language skills (particularly EU) would be useful but not essential
E-commerce/consumer technology business experience would be useful but not essential
