About the role
You'll look after our Berlin based development teams' well-being and improvement journey, resulting in increased delivery, transparency and predictability within teams and across departments. We have a high level of ownership and accountability at MPB, which will empower you to drive change and improvement across teams. Psychological safety is the fundamental basis of all improvement journeys, so it is the top priority for the Scrum Master at MPB.

You'll be based in our Berlin office with a team of co-located skilled engineers and product professionals. As the Senior Scrum Master in Berlin, you'll report to the Head of Delivery and IT in Brighton.
We operate a hybrid working pattern of 2 fixed days in the office and 3 days remote working.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the Engineering Lead to recruit and establish two new Scrum teams
- Continuously guide, coach and motivate the team(s) and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers, improve the flow of work and increase team engagement and happiness
- Organise and lead Scrum ceremonies across 2 Scrum teams
- Remove impediments and guide the teams to remove them within the spirit of increasing self-organisation
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Work with the teams to create useful, reliable and practical plans for software development and deployment, exposed through Jira
- Identify and track key KPIs to build confidence in the software delivery process and support the stakeholders in prioritisation decisions
- Prepare and lead communication with key stakeholders to improve transparency
- Influence and drive positive change across the Product & Engineering department
About you:
- You have been a Scrum Master for at least four to six years and can give examples of how your team(s) have matured in the way they apply Scrum principles, practices, and theory and how this has provided value to the associated business
- You are comfortable driving change within and outside of the scrum teams
- You are confident in using a variety of Agile frameworks most suitable for the team(s) depending on their level of maturity, eg: Scrum, Kanban, Lean Thinking, eXtreme Programming, SAFe, LeSS, etc
- You consider yourself a servant leader with particular strengths in team dynamics, group facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution
- You’re a role model for transparency and continuous learning
- Searching for areas of continual improvement(process and people empowerment) is what makes you jump out of bed in the morning
- While you’re easily able to transition between strategic and operational discussions (and enjoy the variety), you really enjoy being hands-on with the scrum team(s)
- You have a solid, practical understanding and experience with widely successful Agile practices and techniques such as Value-driven User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing and Pairing
- You know how to use Jira to both organise scrum team work and to drive reporting / create transparency
- You have been told that you’re an excellent communicator and proactive problem solver
- You’re highly self organised and love to coach and mentor others
- You have a real sense of ownership and pride in the value of your work and its impact on the company's success, as well as on the individuals in your team(s)
