About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Product Designer to join our growing Product Design Team.
As a Product Designer at MPB, you will play a crucial role in crafting intuitive and visually appealing user experiences for our re-commerce platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, turning complex problems into elegant design solutions.
Reporting directly to our Head of Product Design, you will work from our new Berlin tech hub with our Designers, Researchers, Product Managers and Engineers to ensure a holistic approach to the development of our platform. Our ethos revolves around a steadfast commitment to a user-first, human-centred approach. Rigorous research and insightful methodologies underscore every aspect of our design and development processes.
This role is based in our friendly office in Bülowstraße, Berlin, with a team of co-located, skilled engineers and product professionals and forms part of a wider Product department with further teams based in our UK office.
We currently operate a hybrid working pattern to support days in the office alongside days working remotely (Wednesdays and Thursdays in office). The working language of the team will be English.
What you'll be doing
- Collaborate with Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and desired outcomes.
- Carry out user research in collaboration with our UX Researcher.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mobile-first designs.
- Measure and monitor impact on performance of released features.
- Iterate on designs based on user testing, feedback, and changing project requirements.
- Maintain a consistent design language and ensure a cohesive user experience across all products.
- Utilise tools like FullStory and Kameleoon (A/B testing), incorporating data-driven insights into the design process.
- Use our data and insights to craft user-centred design solutions.
- Explore opportunities for CRO experiments, personalised experiences, plan and build experiments and analyse results to drive improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies.
- Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate findings and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.
- A solid foundation in UX/UI/Visual design principles, experience with design tools, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
What you'll need
You’d make a great start in the role if you have most of the following
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
- Bachelor's degree in UI Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field/experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Product Design, preferably in a software development environment.
- Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing.
- An intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious.
- Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members.
- Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback.
- Ability to analyse and understand data insights.
- A well-rounded portfolio of delivered work, demonstrating a strong understanding of user needs and design thinking.
- Ability to effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts.
- Ability to design for the bigger picture while also working on quick turnaround, impactful solutions.
- Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve.
- Dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency in user testing tools like Maze or similar.
- Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and best practices.
- Proven track record of producing high-end, pixel perfect UI Designs, microinteractions and working prototypes on prototyping tools like Figma, Framer etc.
- Experience in building and maintaining Design Systems.
- Ability to take ownership of design projects.
- Proven research and insight-led approach to design.
- Proficiency in tools like FullStory, Tableau and Kameleoon (or any similar A/B testing tool)
Additional desirable skills (non essential):
- Experience in e-commerce, Conversion Design and a background in conducting Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) experiments.
- Understanding or experience with AI applied to design.
- Experience in designing Landing Pages.
